Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo has accepted an invitation to play in Vietnam during a whirlwind visit to the country later this year.
Ronaldo will reportedly be paid at least 1 million euros, or US$1.4 million, for the 90-minute game.
Do Quang Hien, president of Vietnam’s top-flight V-League club T&T Hanoi, said Ronaldo and his representative Jorge Mendes had accepted the invitation.
The 24-year-old Ronaldo, who transferred to Real Madrid from Manchester United in June for the record sum of 80 million pounds ($131.8 million), will play for both sides during a friendly game between T&T Hanoi and SHB Danang, Hien said.
The date and location for the match have not yet been announced.
Hien said he was also discussing with Mendes the prospect of Real Madrid players Ruud van Nistelrooij and Jose Maria Gutierrez, known as Guti, to make guest appearances for T&T Hanoi sometime in the future.
