Vietnamese Grandmaster Le Quang Liem finished runner-up on a tie-break after finishing joint top with two others at the Moscow Open.
He finished with seven points after held to a draw in the last round by eventual champion, Russian Grandmaster Konstantin Chernyshov. Another Russian, Evgeny Bareev, took the bronze medal.
Liem remained unbeaten at the tourney, winning five of his nine matches.
The week-long Moscow Open, which wrapped up on Sunday, attracted 1,000 contestants grouped in four categories based on ELO ratings, with Liem competing in the top category with 186 others including 73 grandmasters.
