UK to help Vietnam set up university
Vietnam Government website

Vietnam and the UK signed an agreement to set up an international-standard university in Vietnam following Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan’s visit from March 9 to 11.

They could do that by upgrading Danang University or building one from scratch, and the British side will develop the syllabus.

The British Council and Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training will run the university.

The UK has built an international school in Ho Chi Minh City which has classes from pre-school to secondary school levels.

The two nations also agreed to cooperate in other fields like energy, climate change, and trade.

Vietnam and the UK hope to increase bilateral trade to US$3 billion in the coming years from $2 billion last year.
