Cambodia inaugurated Thursday a US$25.8 million highway that was built using a soft loan provided by Vietnam.
The 70km-long Highway 78 connects Vietnam’s Le Thanh border gate in the central province of Gia Lai with Banlung town in northeastern Cambodia.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong said the new road would help promote trade and strengthen security.
It will also ease movement between Vietnam and Thailand on Cambodia’s west.
