Five Filipino fishermen on Sunday were rescued from their sinking boat by a Vietnamese vessel off the waters of Binh Dinh in central Vietnam.

They were discovered by Pham De, a local fishing boat owner, according to the provincial border guard.

The rescued later boarded his ship and received care and treatment.

The provincial authorities are working with the diplomatic agencies of the two countries to return the Filipino fishermen back home as soon as possible.
