Vung Tau to host international kite festival

More than 300 kite enthusiasts from 30 countries and territories will gather in Vung Tau city for the second international kite festival to be held from March 25 to 29.

Seven kite clubs from Ho Chi Minh City, the southern provinces of Dong Nai and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, and the central provinces of Khanh Hoa and Binh Thuan will bring more than 100 kites to the five-day event themed “Legend – A thousand years” to celebrate Hanoi’s 1000th anniversary.

Kite artists and local students will also team up to fly 1,000 kites to mark the anniversary.

The annual Vung Tau International Kite Festival is organized by the Ba Ria – Vung Tau People’s Committee to boost tourism to the province which is situated 125 kilometers southeast of HCMC.

The first edition was held last year, attracting 130 contestants from 17 countries and territories.
