Low-cost Jetstar Pacific Airlines Tuesday launched a “buy one, get one free” ticket deal for pairs of travelers.
Under the deal, the airline will give one free ticket to every pair of passengers traveling on the same flight inside Vietnam from April 1 to 21 and from May 6 to 25.
The promotional fares must be booked in pairs for travel on the same flight. The limit for each booking is eight passengers, Vietnam News Agency reported.
Children aged under two, who are admitted onboard free-of-charge according to the airline’s policies, are not eligible for the program.
The promotion tickets are on sale on the airline’s website www.jetstar.com until 11:59p.m. on January 29.
Under the program, each single flight for two between Ho Chi Minh City and central Danang City or Hue City is sold for VND415,000 (US$22.47).
Each ticket for single flight on HCMC-Vinh or HCMC-Hai Phong route costs VND735,000 ($39.79) and VND845,000 ($45.75) for a single trip between Hanoi and HCMC. The fares do not include taxes, fees and surcharges.
The tickets can be purchased online with credit cards, such as MasterCard, Visa, JCB and AMEX as well as the debit card ATM Connect 24 issued by The Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank).
The airline was transformed from Pacific Airlines to Jetstar Pacific in May 2008 when Australia’s Qantas Airways Ltd. bought an 18 percent stake.
Jetstar Pacific, the second largest airline in Vietnam, late last year faced financial losses due to fuel hedging as well as safety accusations by its former employee, saying the carrier did not strictly follow maintenance and flying safety regulations.
The carrier currently operates some 40 flights a day to domestic destinations, including HCMC, Hanoi, Danang City, Nha Trang City and Hai Phong City.
