Hard Rock Café to unveil rock collectibles

Some 174 rock collectibles from some of the giants of the game, including John Lennon, Elvis Presley and Jon Bon Jovi will be on shown at the Hard Rock Café in Ho Chi Minh City next week.

The collection features the outfit late Beatles front man Lennon wore when he performed the anti-war anthem “Give peace a chance” in 1969 in Washington D.C., Elvis Presley’s baseball uniform and a guitar signed by the members of the Eagles.

British singer-songwriter Rod Stewart’s jacket, a denim jacket of Bon Jovi front man Jon Bon Jovi, considered a must-have fashion accessories of the 1980s, and magazine covers featuring some of the biggest acts in rock are also among the display items.

The exhibition, to open on December 15 at 39, Le Duan Street, District 1, is to mark the launching of the first Hard Rock Café in Vietnam.

To be opened next month, the café is part of a franchising agreement between U.K.-based Hard Rock International and the Viet Thai International Joint Stock Company, owner of the popular coffee shop chain Highlands Coffee.

Hard Rock Café started as an American diner in London, opened by two American music lovers in 1971.

Hard Rock Café, the originator of theme-restaurant dining, offers a full rock experience through cafes, hotels, casinos, memorabilia and music venues.

The chain is also the world’s leading collector and exhibitor of rock 'n' roll memorabilia with more than 70,000 pieces that are rotated from restaurant to restaurant, providing the world's most comprehensive "visual history" of rock 'n' roll.

The brand nowadays includes over 158 venues in more than 52 countries and 128 cafés and 12 hotels/casinos across the globe.
