Get up close with a white tiger - and pay for the privilege of doing so?
The Singapore Zoo is confident visitors will pay $28 - not including the cost of zoo entry - to get within 1.5m of a cage holding 10-year-old Omar, all 140kg of him.
The welded metal cage is 'very, very strong', his keepers said.
Visitors who pay to watch him being trained will need that kind of reassurance: Omar was one of the three white tigers that fatally mauled a cleaner who entered their enclosure in 2008.
The zoo's other white tigers are Winnie and Jippie.
After the mauling, the white tigers were taken off public display for five days.
Omar's ticketed appearance will mark the first time that the public can watch him being trained. Tickets will be sold for the afternoons of February 13 to 16, 20, 21, 27 and 28.
Only visitors aged 12 and above will be let in.
Visitors, in groups of no more than 15, will be reminded to keep their voices low and to avoid sudden movements.
