The Ministry of Finance on Monday pledged to cut down 30 percent of administrative procedures in tax and customs sectors next year.
The ministry announced at a conference it has revised some 139 administrative procedures of the tax, customs offices and the state treasury and decided to reduce the number to 80.
The Doing Business 2010 report released by the World Bank on September 9 said Vietnamese firms spend 1,050 hours a year filing taxes, ranking 147th among 184 countries.
Meanwhile, a Singapore firm reportedly needs only 84 hours compared to the average 227 hours across the Asia Pacific Region.
Meanwhile, as e-customs services have not been widely applied in Vietnam, it makes the process of customs clearance and inspection longer.
