HANOI - The State Bank of Vietnam said on Thursday it will hold its key policy rate unchanged at 8.0 percent in March, despite some expectations for a hike.

The announcement keeping the rate unchanged for the fourth consecutive month was published on the central bank's website.

Economists had expected the benchmark, Vietnam 's base rate, to be hiked after annual inflation hit its highest level in 10 months in February.
